I deleted a lot of music on my zune, then added artists that I want. Now, instead of deleting the artists names that I un-synced, the zune keeps the artists names, even though the music isn’t there. When you select the artist, it says "no items", which makes sense, but I want a nice clean and organized menu instead of music data that doesn’t even exist. The bottom line: Can someone tell me how to sync my zune so I can get rid of my old artist data?
I have never heard of this happening. make sure auto sync is turned off in the software settings and hook the zune up. find the artist and delete again. this should solve the problem. if not, do a reboot (back button and up button until screen goes blank)

Sync to your software and click on the device (collection marketplace social device) it will say status so go ahead and click music as a sub cat go to the artist section and right click on the empty ones then choose delete.
