This is a “deep dive” video where I take a closer look at the device. The model I’m looking at here is the 16 GB model, in black, and it sells for $219 USD as of September 2009. Check the link above for the best price. The Zune HD has a 3.3 inch OLED touchscreen, in a 16:9 aspect ratio, at 272 x 480 pixel resolution. It uses the NVIDIA Tegra APX 2600 processors to accelerate graphics and achieve impressive performance. The Zune HD comes in 16 GB (Black) and 32 GB (Platinum) models. ZuneOriginals.net has them in blue, green, and red as well.

I haven’t used one but since there both capacitive touch screens they should be very finger friendly. From the videos i’ve watched on youtube it looks like there about the same. BUT when it comes to watching videos and color quality, the Zune HD Wins!!

does the zune hd have a better sound quality then the ipod touch? I’m thinking of buying the sony walkman x-1000 because I heard it has one of the best sound qualities but it’s too expensive so I narrowed down my choices with the ipod touch and zune hd.

Sound quality is highly subjective and it’s pretty much impossible to say that one device sounds better than another unless one device is truly AWFUL. The Zune HD sounds great to my ears!

A speaker would allow you to use the Zune as an alarm clock – I have an iPod Touch that I use in that way, and it’s quite handy. And what about gaming, watching movie trailers, etc? You don’t need headphones for those times…
