Good point. To be honest the only reason I haven’t bought a PSP yet is because the lack of a 2nd analog stick. Call me nuts but I hate the controller the way it is.
As for a portable media center it’s just too bulky. I have an iPhone. I use it basically for everything. “Gaming”, music, organizer, email, web, calls etc. and the best is it fits in my pocket and I can carry it everywhere.

  5. I thought the exact …
I thought the exact same thing as you did…why iPod when i have a PSP with a 4GB memorystick?

With PSP, it’s more bulkier and if you have a hacked PSP….trust me, you wont care much about having songs/videos on it, as you’ll be downloading homebrew games, PSP/PS1 retail games.

It has online, but not as fast as iPod touch/iPhone.

    However, apparantly Sony/Sandisk are making a 2TB memorystick….Thats a 2000GB space…

    And will be PSP compatible.

  6. Well that’s true …
Well that’s true the PSP can store pictures, play games, AND store songs. I have both but i don’t like lugging around my big ol PSP around when i want to listen to music lol. Rather I’m at work, mowing the lawn, or just walking around the block. I want to listen to music! you know, so it’s nice to have an extremely light weight compact device that will store all my favorite songs that i can listen to on the go =]

to be honest all i can think of is the obvious such as with the ipod touch you get a touch screen, with the zune you get radio small things like that. but if you like your psp i don’t think there’s anything major enough for you to switch to one of those.

  14. well… the …
well… the software for psp is free to get online,
album art? yeah theres that, ID3 tags im not sure, and whats EQ?

Anyway, the PSP can do more things than both zune and ipod, it can surf the net, check email, listen to hundreds of channels of internet radio, can be modified to watch youtube.

Theres 3 downsides of PSP though,
    1. Size, it can barely fit in 1s pocket
    2. Battery of 4-8 hours
    3. Limited Storage space of 2-8GB maybe 16, depending on the size of memory stick duo.

  16. you’d be getting a …
you’d be getting a lot more storage space. the highest capacity memory card i’ve ever seen was a 8GB card. with a iPod or a Zune… you can go up to 160GB (like my iPod)

  21. Um…well sir, …
Um…well sir, there are alot of things that iPod/Zune can do that the PSP can’t. Think of it as an Ipod Shuffle with a screen. Let’s take a look

    No included software
    No Album Art
    No ID3 Tags
No EQ (as far as I know of)
You need to buy a memory stick
Battery life sucks compared to the Zune or iPod

But, apparently you are quite satisfied with it, so may advice: stick with PSP.

    PSP owns all.

By WaitingForMyTime on Oct 23, 2009

  24. the psp does not …
the psp does not have a built in memory you have to buy a external memory and the problem with that is you can’t really find a 30 or 60 gb memory stick so it depends a lot on how much memory your going to need to be using but i know that i do have a ipod and i did have a psp for a while and i didn’t like using the psp for media files because i could fit even a fraction of the songs that are on my computer much less the movies and photos……….

By bobplaynthegitfiddle on Oct 23, 2009

  25. the ipod and zune …
the ipod and zune have a longer battery life for audio and are much smaller. you can also make playlists, listen to podcasts, or radio (zune). but overall i would chose the ipod because if you transfer o use the hard drive to transfer, like me. the psp does have nice things, big screen, internet, games, etc. but personally, i hate the zune b/c it kept freezing on me and the software is bad. so get the ipod b/c of battery life, HDD use.
