If you look at it from the viewpoint that the 14.99/month gives you unlimited downloads as long as you keep paying for it, and the fact each month you can keep 10 of the songs permanently, it’s actually a pretty good deal. If you look at it from the view that if you don’t pay the monthly fee nearly all the music you’ve downloaded from the zune marketplace will eventually stop playing, than it seems like you’re wasting your money. You could forget about the whole monthly zune pass idea and just buy your music one song or album at a time, whether it’s the zune marketplace, itunes or amazon. Overall though I like the idea of the zune pass, it gives you the chance to sample hundreds (or thousands) of songs that you might not have the chance to listen to without paying a lot of money, and it’s legal.
To refresh your Zune Pass, it’ll depend on whether you’re using a credit card or a prepaid Zune Pass card (you can buy them at Best Buy). If it’s a credit card, go to your Settings menu when you start up the Zune software, click on Account, then Get A Zune Pass Now, and enter your credit card details. With a prepaid Zune Pass card you can click on Account, then Redeem Code (under Buy Microsoft Points), and enter the code from your prepaid card. It should automatically recognize the code and reactivate your account. Once your account is reactivated you can then go to your subscription history on your Account screen and restore all your previously downloaded music.
Alternately you can also enter this information on the Zune.net website under the My Account section when you sign in. Hope this helps!

Anything but the ten songs a month that you can keep will vaporize if you don’t continue to pay.
